The Guardian is reporting that the U.S. has requested UK troops to fill in for Americans south of Baghdad, while US troops undertake operations against "terrorists" elsewhere in the country. It is speculated that it will be the U,K's Black Watch regiment that replaces them. Is that a cool name or what?

Teresa Heinz Kerry paid an overall average federal tax rate of 12.4% on her millions in 2003. Many will point out the hypocrisy of her husband wanting to increase taxes when he himself is avoiding paying "his fair share." But that may be missing the bigger picture.
I am a simple woman and I look at things in a simple way. Kerry has promised a great deal if he becomes President and it takes money to deliver on those promises. He has said that he will rollback the tax cuts and increase taxes on those making over $200,000.
Now lets think about that. One does not make over $200,000 a year by being stupid. And even if you are stupid, you hire tax lawyers who are not. Teresa is a perfect example of this. Does anyone think for a moment she is the only millionaire paying an average 12.4% tax rate? I think we know that everyone with a great deal of money has a tax accountant on hand to make sure they get to keep as much as they can. So doesn't this mean that rolling back the tax cuts and imposing new taxes will not really generate the needed cash Kerry needs to fund his promises????
Hey, I'm not an accountant. Just a simple woman. Correct me if I am wrong.
Reagan understood that lower tax rates means more money in consumer's pockets and more money spent in the economy. Bush understands that too. And for all those out there thinking "greedy Republicans," you might be interested to know that during the Reagan years when tax rates were at their lowest, people gave more to charities than ever before. We aren't greedy, we just like to give money to charities that we know are doing the best jobs in helping the poor and needy.

ABC reports: Republicans have better sex than democrats. Is anyone surprised by this?

Have you read about the exchange between Ed Gillespie of the Republican national Committee and Jehmu S. Green, President of Rock the Vote regarding the phony draft scare and MTV's copy of a draft notice signed by Rumsfield on it's website? Fred Schoeneman has it and the screenshot of the draft notice. Jehmu responds to Gillespie's complaints saying that Bush or "for even that matter Kerry" cannot guarantee that there will be no draft and that no one trusts their promises. Then why bring it up as an election issue? How does bringing the draft into it help the youth to decide who to vote for if both men agree on the issue?????

Because we all know it's not about the draft issue, it's about not voting for Bush. The draft notice isn't signed by a fictional Sec. Of Defense. It's signed by the Sec. Of Defense under Bush.

It's all about deception.

UPDATE: INDC Journal is reporting that MTV has change the signature on the draft notice to 'Charles Rangel.'

If you are under the impression that they are now trying to be fair or even placate the Republicans, think again. It is all about thier 'non-partisan' status. Wouldn't want to put that in jeopardy, now would we? Then people would think you were just a partisan hack. Yeah.

Police Call on Kerry to Stop Misrepresenting Their Support

Chuck Canterbury, the President of the nation’s largest police labor organization, called on John Kerry to stop making misleading statements regarding his support from the law enforcement community. Canterbury said. “The real majority of my fellow officers are standing behind President Bush, because he has been there for us.”

Ouch.

Washington Post columnist and Fox News contributer Charles Krauthammer responds to Kerry and Edward's lies about stem research and the shame of giving false hope for political gain:
"In my 25 years in Washington, I have never seen a more loathsome display of demagoguery. Hope is good. False hope is bad. Deliberately, for personal gain, raising false hope in the catastrophically afflicted is despicable."

Ouch again.

Krauthammer, a doctor by training with a more than passing interest in any kind of research on spinal cord injuries, being in a wheelchair himself. Krauthammer goes on to say:
"Edwards and Kerry constantly talk of a Bush "ban" on stem cell research. This is false. There is no ban.

When the whole swiftboat thing came out I truly did not care what John Kerry had done at 24 as a Vietnam war protestor. What someone did 30 yrs ago is just not relevant now. People grow up, people mature, and people change. But now I see that that is the problem with Kerry. He hasn't changed. To this day he uses other people's suffering for his own gain. There is not a issue he will not exploit to score political points. Whether it is Christopher Reeve's paraylsis, Cheney's daughter homosexuality, or scaring the eldery with social security concerns. Kerry uses people to prop up his distortions. He also lies, lies constantly. Lies about stem cell research, lies about police officers supporting him, lies about being in Cambodia on Christmas eve in 1968, lies about the possibility of the draft, lies about his stance on the war, lies about his own voting record, and now is lying about plans for privatizing social security completely.
30 yrs ago he lied about the criminal activity of war veterans and he continues to lie today.

On a lighter note, Rolling Stone magazine sent a undercover comedian to the Bush headquarters in Orlando. I expected it to be a slice and dice piece on Republicans and there are a few jabs and jokes but check this out:

In a laughable article in Rolling Stone complaining of media bias against Kerry, we read the reason for all the late night shows and barbs at Bush was because Kerry had stated "I need humor."

Operation Viking Hammer. History in the making.

U.S News and World Report has a riveting article in its Oct. 18th issue about Operation Viking Hammer. A extraordinary firefight during the liberation of Iraq by our Special Forces against what turned out to be a International terrorist training camp in Iraq. It reads like a movie script. here's a excerpt describing part of the fight with the team sergeant "Grit," a commando for 13 yrs in the Special Forces.

"Grit had been in plenty of fixes before, but this was as hairy as anything he'd seen. He knew they had to move before the next barrage. On the count of three, they dashed to the next wall and hurled themselves behind it. Then they looked back. The next mortar rounds hit the spot they had just fled.
The Ansar fighters immediately began readjusting their aim. Within minutes, mortar rounds were kicking up clods of dirt and grass all around them."

I'll spoil the ending for you. They kicked ass. (I seem to be saying that a lot in my blog) earning them 3 Silver Stars and six Bronze Stars with V for Valor.
And in case your confused. Yes, this was as we were liberating Iraq. And yes, the terrorists fighting our men were found with foreign identity cards from all over the middle east............ International terrorists........ In Iraq.......When we were liberating it. Yeah.

Afghanistan. Victory and Valor.

Christopher Hitchen of Vanity Fair Magazine spent some time in Afghanistan recently. Keep in mind that if there is a more anti-Bush magazine than Vanity Fair, I am not aware of it. His article this month is fascinating. He perhaps didn't realize how it confirms American policy in Afghanistan or it could be just actual fair journalism. Probably both.
He said that the thing that struck him in a overwhelming way was the change for women. He says:

"Three years ago, you could not look an Afghan woman or girl in the eye. Half the population was chatter or other property: Invisible, enveloped, and voiceless. The male members of their families could literally give them away as bargaining chips, or prizes. Arbitrary and lascivious punishments, ususally totted up in lashes but sometimes in lethal stones, were the enforcement of this slavery. You can still read, quite often, of young women who set themselves on fire to avoid forced marriage and other types of bondage."
He reminds us that this was the world of Bin Laden and the Taliban regarding women.

Fully 41% of those registered to vote at the time of the article were women. Now the women were showing their faces and hair, going to school, and finding their voice in society.

We now know that the threats of widespread bombing and violence on election day were empty threats, thank God. Not that isolated acts of violence won't continue, they will. As long as even a few of the mutants of Bin Laden live, they will spread the evil that consumes them. But even a writer of vanity Fair acknowdleges this common thought:
"If Osama bin Laden is still alive, he has a very faint and unconvincing way of demonstrating it."

Bottom line: Al Qaida and Taliban attacked us. We went into Afghanistan and kicked their ass. The people of Afghanistan have been pulled from the darkness of ignorance and shame into the sweet light of freedom.

A remarkable victory and a undebatable change in the history of the middle east for the better. Bush could have easily let that victory be it. With this historic vote in Afghanistan and no war in Iraq, Bush would now be facing a landslide victory, no doubt. Most politicians might have done exactly that. To win re-election if nothing else. But Bush saw and felt a clear threat from Saddam. He was not going to risk another attack and felt it was time to remove this madman from a region that had long been planting and sowing deep seeds of hatred for the United States. Decisions like this take courage. Some may call Bush a lot of things, but full of self interest is not one of them. What President wouldn't relish a victory over the Taliban and Bin Laden and sit back and enjoy the accolades?
Not this one.

Everyone agrees that all involved from the UN to European nations to the U.S. believed that Saddam had WMD. He had used them and we have the mass graves to prove it. Everyone agrees that Saddam was madman bent on power, killing, and control of the region. Everyone agrees that his sons were even worse and waiting in the wings for their turn at continuing the evil. We can never know "what might have been" if Saddam had not been taken down. We can't know what horror we prevented in the future or how many lives we saved.

The left will always insist that Saddam was not much of a threat. Evil? Sure. Hated the U.S. with every fiber of his being? Sure. Tortured and killed his own people? Sure. Tried invading other countries? Sure. Planned on developing his weapons program after attention died down? Sure. Embezzled millions from the food for oil program that made his people suffer? Sure. Payed off European countries in kickbacks dissolving any credibility they had on the Iraq war? Sure.

But still......Just not that much of a threat. Yeah. Right.

Bush made a courageous and unpopular decision, as most courageous decisions are. The only way we can thank him is by casting our vote for him on Nov. 2nd.

Our warriors have made us proud. They have sacrificed, but not in vain.

Freedom is something we in the U.S. take for granted. But little girls in Afghanistan hold it tightly now like a warm blanket. It feels good. It feels safe.

Now they are targeting Cheney's daughter in a new campaign to compel Mary to publicly oppose the same sex marriage ban. See this AP story.

Mary is not running for anything. For God's sake leave the daughters of all the candidates alone.

God, Kerry, and Bush. Jonah Goldberg and Rich Lowery do an excellent job in pointing out Kerry's hypocrisy and Bush's sincere faith.

Democrats trying to suppress the military vote. I am so shocked. They are such hypocrites. I want to puke.

Speaking of feeling sick about the left's scorn for the military. Ann Coulter writes this in her new book "How to Talk To Liberals" :

"College dropout Michael Moore put a microphone in Republican Congressman Mark Kennedy’s face and asked for his help in getting more members of Congress to send their own family members to fight the war on terror. Kennedy replied that he would love to and that he already had two nephews in the military, one on his way to Afghanistan. Moore’s documentary shows Kennedy’s image—but cuts his answer from the film."

which says all you need to know about Michael Moore and the film.

Then Coulter tells us what does motivate liberals to take up arms:

Afghans voted in a free election for the first time ever. The commander of U.S. troops Lt. General David Barno said the election had dealt a major blow to the remaining Taliban and "The overwhelming success of this election was a strategic defeat for the Taliban and al Qaeda and is a turning point for Afghanistan."
We bring democracy to a part of the world that DESPERATELY needs it, and crush al Quaeda there (you remember, the ones who flew our planes into the WTC) and the above cartoon is how the left looks at it.

Rueters is reporting that U.S. Forces have arrested the Sunni Muslim Cleric al Jumili (who happens to be the 'police chief' --meaning insurgent leader) and two other 'police officers' as they fled Fallujah for a nearby resort town. Always good when the 'police chief' cuts and runs. The arrest happened after U.S. air attacks on the city yesterday aimed at Zarqawi targets.
Lets keep our soldiers there in our prayers today, ok?

Kerry's mistake.

There is no doubt in my mind why Kerry and Edwards brought up Cheney's gay daughter in the debates. It was a subtle (or so they thought) way of letting the part of the Christian right that just now may be paying attention to the presidential race, know that Cheney has a lesbian daughter. Hoping it would convince them to stay home on election day. Which goes to show you how little Kerry and Edwards know about the Christian right. The Christian right admire Cheney and his wife for showing such love and concern for their child even if she doesn't live as they would like her to. It is a perfect example of loving your child unconditionally. Isn't this something the gay community should celebrate when so many parents have nothing to do with their child after they have confessed to being gay?
Then Liz Edward adds insult to injury by saying that Lynn Chenye's anger over the remark somehow shows her to be ashamed of her daughter.
In a reprehensible effort to display their "respect" of gays and at the same time play on the supposed bigotry of the religious right, the Kerry campaign (Cahill especially) tripped up on a unspoken rule of common decency...You don't use the other candidate's children for political points. You just don't.
People are used to mudslinging in politics, but given all the dirt that has been thrown throughout political history during an election, we have thus far kept the politician's children out of it.
That is, until now.
You see, this is a simple thing that all people can understand. No spin can change it or change it's meaning. Many may miss the insult to religious parents, many may miss the pandering to the gay community, but no one missed the fact that Kerry brought up unecessarilly a very personal family issue involving the child of one of his opponents to score political points.
Every parent could relate to the remarks of Dick and Lynn Cheny expressing their anger at this.
Kerry made a tactical mistake.
Let us hope it cost him.

The Sinclair Broadcasting group is planning on airing "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal." The documentary features first-person accounts relating how POWs were tortured by the Viet Cong with John Kerry's 1971 senate testimony.
The Kerry Campaign is calling it anti-Kerry partisan tripe, but as Front Page Mag says "They ignore the fact that the men and women featured in "Stolen Honor" are highly decorated Vietnam POW's and their wives, who through blood and tears have earned the right to speak to and be heard by the American public."

Sorry guys, once you let Fahrenheit 911 out there, all bets are off. If Moore can 'edit' the truth, then these guys can TELL the truth.

I have always liked Bill O'Reilly. I mean he's no Sean Hannity, but he's fun to watch. But if this is true then he has lost a viewer.
A woman who works at Fox news has filed a sexual harrasment lawsuit against O'Reilly. In reading the complaint it looks like she recorded the conversations with him. But can you do that on a cell phone? It said that she expected the call to be work related so then why would she record it? Can you retrieve conversations???? Well, when I read stuff like this I always think "Woman! how can you let him talk to you like that????" I have been in situations where the conversation started to get uncomfortable for me and I just find a reason to leave or direct the conversation in another direction. It is really not that hard to do. Which leads me to think that she probably participated in the conversations with him in the past. He seems to comfortable with it for it to be the first time for him to speak to her that way. Thats just the way I see it. This whole thing about her feeling "frightened and disturbed" while he was talking. Uhhh.. how about HANGING UP! So anyway, nothing surprises me these days. Sad, but true.

It is consistent with his views on Vietnam: that we should have left and abandoned Vietnam. It is consistent with his view of Nicaragua and the Sandinistas. It is consistent with his view of opposing Ronald Reagan at every step of the way in the arms buildup that was necessary to destroy communism. It is consistent with his view of not supporting the Persian Gulf War, which was another extraordinary step. Whatever John Kerry’s global test is, the Persian Gulf War certainly would pass anyone’s global test. If it were up to John Kerry, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, but he’d still be controlling Kuwait."

We really have to understand that fact. Kerry wasn't even willing to take Saddam's forces out of Kuwait. Facing enormous pressures from the U.N. and Europe on any given military operation, is there any doubt that Kerry would give in to it?
I know your tired of this, I am tired of this. But this is IMPORTANT. We not only need to vote, we need to make our neighbors and co workers vote. If you live in a swing state you need to be WORKING IT! Volunteer right now! I plan to absentee vote and go to Florida and help out.

One thing seems necessary to be said to the moonbats who insist that we are trying to tie all terrorists with one ribbon. No, we don't think the terrorist who car bomb in Iraq had dinner parties with the hijackers that flew our planes into the World Trade Center towers. No, we don't think the terrorists that shot children in the back and blew up the school in Beslan Russia met for lunch with Al Queda. They are different in many ways. Saddam was not a religious Muslim (although he pretended to be at times) His hatred of America came from us not allowing him to take over Kawait and eventually the region. His was simply a madman bent on gaining as much power and land that he could get. Killing innocent woman and children being part of the way he operated. A different mindset than the WWT center terrorists, but a terrorist none the less, given any definition of a terrorist. But the fact is that most terrorists that we are dealing with DO come with a fanatical evil religious fevor. That cannot be denied.
Perhaps the Democrats would realize this if they weren't so determined to paint ANY kind of picture of the world that would allow them to win.

Former UN inspector Hans Blix notes that although its good that Saddam is gone, the war "has stimulated terrorism."

We have heard this theme before and I just don't buy it. Maybe it has stimulated the increase of terrorist trying to get at our military. This is war after all. But it's not like these militants, if left alone, would just be making bread in a bakery somewhere. They are evil and sick and leaving them alone would not have stopped them or deterred them. They are gonna bomb, mutilate, kill, and behead until every woman is wearing a burka and every man bows down to Allah. CAN WE GET THIS PEOPLE ?????????

I could list a hundred things right now that I hate about American culture. But freedom IS our way of life and I have to live with what people in American choose to have legal. I HATE abortion and pornography. HATE THEM. I think they damage our soul as nothing else does. But I would rather live in a society that allows such evil than have evil itself decide what we can and cannot do. At least now I can fight against it. I can vote for who is against it. I can show my kids that it is wrong. In the Islam society I could never do that or I might find myself face down in a trench holding my toddler.

But your going to vote for him. Why? Because you know he is just saying those things to get elected. You know he is lying. You know that he's on your side. Admit it.

John Kerry visited a Haitian Catholic Church and a Black Baptist Church this morning. Shame on both of them. Not because they let him come to their church. All churches should have open doors. They are there for the sinners after all. But Kerry should have been met with silent and respectful protestors at the Catholic Church. (he usually is) I don't want to get preachy here but anyone familiar with the Bible knows that Paul talked about those who are openly sinful and defiant of the Church. First you go to them and make them aware of their grave sin, let them know there is forgiveness and mercy always with God. Then if they show sorrow and ask for forgiveness they are welcomed back. Kerry shows no remorse for his defiance against Church teaching. He promotes abortion rights including such far left ideology as opposition to the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and parental notification for minors. He will give you all kinds of reasons, but we all know the reason is that he is beholden to the abortion rights lobby. You can be pro-choice if you wish, of course, but don't pretend to be some kind of believing Catholic. Believing in the sanctity of human life is at the heart of our teaching. The Church makes clear that if you promote this grave sin then you are not in a state of grace. Now you can disagree with the Church, that is your right, but don't pretend that you are in communion with it when you clearly are not.
The Black Church spectacle was just as shameful to me. I will soon do a blog on my utter bewilderment at the black community's continued support of democrats. But imagine if Bush was in a white protestant church in such a open display of political bias? The media would have a field day. But they don't care with Kerry. Why? Because they know its all for show and there isn't a drop of sincerity in it.

At the Baptist service Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton spoke. Al warning everyone that "everything we have fought for, gone to jail for some died for could be reversed if the wrong people are put on the supreme court."
Really??? Which candidate is wanting to reverse the Civil Rights Act?? Sorry, your blowing smoke Al, and in church, that could reveal who you really work for.
Which candidate has shown how much he respects the black community by appointing blacks to MAJOR appointments? National Security Advisor being quite an important one considering we are at war. Sec. of Education being another. Sometimes people practice what they preach and other times.....they just preach.

(macabre and ironic are the mass graves of children killed by his chemical weapons we discovered after Saddam's fall ) ANYWAY, Saddam showed footage of mass funerals and tiny coffins. Coffins filled with dead babies that his regime collected from morgues until they had enough for the creepy fake funerals. This brought enough sympathy for the Food for Oil program that got Saddam and previously mentioned heads of state and U.N. bigwigs rich. Show dead babies, get rich. What a guy! And just think, if Kerry had been president he would still be in power.

ABC news political director, Mark Helprin is getting all kinds of grief for his memo before the debate saying that Gibson should go harder on Bush because it seems Mr. Helprin doesn't think they should "hold both sides equally accountable when the facts don't warrant that."
What facts are those Mr. Helprin? Your moonbat colored glasses view of things? Give me a freaking break. Does he not even see his own loss of objectivity? But the most telling part of the memo was this (emphasis mine)....."But as one of the few news organizations with the skill and strength to help voters evaluate what the candidates are saying to serve the public interest. Now is the time for all of us to step up and do that right."
See? Mr. Helprin knows that voters are unable to evaluate on their own, so they need him and ABC news to help us all understand. Heck, Mr. Helprin probably doesn't even think we can spell evaluate, much less do it.

Like I said before I can't be objective in the debates. Bush rocked imo, but a good analysis (even international headlines!) is here.


If you really want to understand the outrage by some Veterans at the thought of a Kerry presidency then you need to read Stolen Valor by B.G. Burkett. (not to be confused with the nutso Rather/memogate Burkett)

In a related story Sinclair Broadcast Group will be airing a film, "Stolen Honor. Wounds that never heal," a few days before the election nationwide that attacks Kerry's activism during the Vietnam war. It is funded by Pennsylvania veterans.
David Wade, a spokesman for the Kerry campaign said "Its not the american way for powerful corporations to strong-arm local broadcasters to air lies promoting a political agenda." Wonder if he has a problem with this.

Both book and film outline for us the horrible distortion that Kerry and others painted of Vietnam Veterans. Look no further than Dan Rather for an example of aiding and abetting these distortions. (funny how his name keeps coming up) In Rather's 1988 CBS documentary (well, that's what they called it) "The Wall Within," Veterans were portrayed as homeless drunks or druggies with accounts of murder and atrocities witnessed by 6 'Vietnam Veterans.' Burkett found in his research that only one of them had actually served in combat.
Bottom line here...CBS and Rather are propaganda outlets for the extreme left and they make me sick. There is no way to measure the damage Kerry and Rather did to a generation of men who bravely served and fought. Vietnam was obviously an example of politicians fighting a war instead of soldiers. But that does not diminish the sacrifice and courage of the men who fought there.
Burkett also found that the myth of the drug addled Vietnam Vet was completely untrue. Studies have shown that Vietnam Veterans have been just as successful in life and business as past Veterans (which is very successful). And considering what stereotypes they had to overcome because of despicable characters like Kerry and Rather, that is saying something.

God, I love our soldiers.

Iraqi Intelligence memos show Saddam was told as early as 2002 that France, having been granted oil contracts, would veto any American plans for war. via Frontpage mag.
Since France is up to it's surrendering monkeys ass in the food for oil scandal, we are not surprised that they would make such an offer. But now we know that Saddam really was insane to believe for a second France could veto anything America wanted to do.

So now we know that Saddam didn't have the WMD that intelligence said that he did. We also know that he intended to re activate the weapons program as soon as he could. Still a solid reason for taking him down and I am VERY glad we did. But is it fair to blame Bush ( and congress ) for trusting the intelligence community? What would you have done? Quoting from Andrew Sullivan back then, I think this is where most of us would be:

This last thought on Edwards at the debate from The American Spectator.
"he was telling bizarre stories about his undereducated father "learning math on television." Then he added patronizingly "I was proud of him." Edwards subtext: My father was a loser. I am a winner who rose from a family of losers through hard work. Vote for me."
The article goes on to say "There is no bottom to the superficiality and stupidity of American politics under the influence of Democratic demagoguery."

That got me to thinking about all the liberals I have known. Most of them did come from humble backgrounds and are better educated than their parents. They feel a sense of "knowing" more. To me the subtext wasn't that his father was a loser, but that Edwards by contrast knows so much more. Edwards feels he's the kind that can "help" people like his father now. People who bettered themselves and worked hard. Maybe his father didn't have a degree or make millions as a trial lawyer, but he did work his way up to own a mill himself. But the "annointed" like Edwards will always know better how to save our money, how to spend our money, and regulate our business.

I have a feeling I would like his dad.

The next debate is on the economy. Liberals love to cite the Clinton years as a model for the economy. Well, guess what? The unemployment rate is right where it was when Clinton was re-elected, at 5.4%. And considering what Bush and this country went through during Bush's first 4 years that is quite an accomplishment.
69% of Americans own their own home, the highest proportion ever.
The final figures for the GDP for the second quarter were announced last week and our economic output grew nearly 5% for the year. That's greater than any 12 month period in the Clinton administration.
Outsourcing is not the problem Kerry wishes it was either. Out of the 1.5 million jobs lost in layoffs this year, less than 1% were sent abroad.

The house ethics committee rebuked Majority Leader Tom Delay for questionable conduct. Mr. Delay better learn that just being right voting on the issues isn't enough for us. We expect decent moral behavior as well. Newt Gingrich learned that the hard way.

We wonder why sanctions don't work? Take a look a the U.N. Imagine if sanctions HAD worked. Maybe Saddam would have allowed inspectors in and we might not have gone to war.

Watching Cheney and Edwards last night was like watching my wise grandfather argue with my snotty self involved cousin. Lets face it, the general public barely know who these guys are though. The thing that ticks me off the most is the way Edwards and Kerry keep saying "we will do this and that" with no details on how. Their whole campaign is based on vague soundbites.

Best zinger of the night was from Cheney on why Edwards and Kerry voted against funding the troops, explaining that Howard Dean was winning in the primaries based on a anti-war record, so they decided to cast an anti-war vote. Cheney went on to say "Now if they couldn't stand up to the pressures that Howard Dean represented, how can we expect them to stand up to Al Qaida?"

Everything you need to know about John Edwards.

The first story I read about John Edwards told me all I needed to know about him. He made his millions off large jury awards from Celebral Palsy medical malpractice cases. Although studies have shown that doctor negligence is not the cause of CP, Edward's skills as a lawyer always brought in millions. But that is not what bothered me the most about Edwards. It was the fact that he has NEVER represented a family who had a child with CP who DIED in the birthing process. You see when the child is dead you don't have a child in a wheelchair to parade in front of a jury. Why take a case you might lose, when you have it in the bag with a child to show. We are a compassionate people, we are also a visual people. Show us someone in need of help, and we give it. Edwards banks on that.During the trials that Edwards has been a part of, he often spoke touchingly of the unborn child in distress in their mother's womb. Yet when the time came to vote for the "Unborn Victims of Violence Act," his compassion was nowhere to be seen. When Laci Peterson's mother wrote a heartfelt letter encouraging congress to vote for the passage of this act, she made it clear that there were two victims that were pulled from the water that day. Laci and her son, Conner. It seems when the "unborn victim" will not make you millions and you will have to answer to the abortion rights lobby, compassion goes out the window. Not that you heard anything about that at the DNC convention. Edwards spoke on such controversial issues as opposing "negative attacks." He supports a "public school system that works for all our children." Oh, and a "safe place to go after school." And really taking it to the edge he said " the color of your skin should never control your destiny." Who knew I would agree with Edwards? Wait....Who wouldn't agree with that? The "2 Americas" theme he tried was nothing short of class warfare. Amusing, being that he is in the America of the filthy rich. I am sure he sees himself as one of those democrats who are there to help the little people. The fact that he makes millions off of them isn't really important, is it? What is important is that John Edwards is the perfect politician. Hes goodlooking, charming, and youthful. He has a sad story in his past, and he "made good." He knows how to spin and charm with the best of them. After he is done you feel good, you agree with everything he said, but your not sure exactly what he did say. John Edwards isn't dumb and he isn't going away. He will be here long after we have filed Kerry under "defeated candidates for president." He is laying his case out and will be back to give his final summation. You can count on that.

This is absolutely true. Bottom line, there isn't much difference in the plan, but there is a hell of a difference in the man.

One thing I have learned in my month of blogging is that the lefties have certainty met my low expectations of them. I find them rude, mean and instead of real debate they throw insults and/or paste long articles from lefty sites. After complaining to a popular blogger, he told me "you are in control of your blog, if they bother you just redo their posts or delete them." Well, I won't do that but I think I will lay down some strict rules. I will no longer tolerate name calling, not of me, our President, or anyone else. It shows a complete lack of maturity. If you want to refer to an article then link it, no more posting of an entire one. Its fine to joke but in good taste. If you don't like these rules then I politely ask you to find another rightwinger to bother.

On a better note, my 15 yr old daughter, who you may have read here is...Well...Emotional in a very girly teenage way, gave me a bit of light at the end of the tunnel the other day when she was describing her debate in school about Kerry and Bush. She knew her facts and she knew how to say it. She made her rightwing mother proud. I also heard my 7 yr old tell another little boy the presidential poll numbers...lol!! The other little boy had no idea what he was talking about and looked at him confused. My son took it as disagreement though. He looked at him concerned and asked "your not cheering for Kerry, are you?" *smile*

Ok, back from camping. Fun except for no sleep. It seems raccoons really like Trix cereal, even enough to get into closed plastic containers. And did you know that when you shine your flashlight on raccoons their eyes glow like freakin goonies? Yeah.. well it tends to interrupt sleep especially when my dog has spasms in his need to kill invading creatures. Every one else sleeps on. A spaceship landing wouldn't have woken them up.

ANYWAY, I keep hearing that Bush looked tired during the debate. Yeah, well that's what happens when you spend the morning comforting hurricane victims instead of getting your nails done and laying in a tanning bed. That's one thing I don't get about the leftys. How can they have respect for this insufferable pampered rich guy who didn't even earn his money?
Also, we all know Bush is kinda busy. I mean being Commander in Chief during the war on terror tends to take up a lot of time. Not to mention running the country and dealing with natural disasters. Is John Kerry doing anything other than campaigning??? I'm serious. Doesn't a congressman usually have something to do? Has Kerry done any work? Could the MSM point that out?
Now before Bush supporters get all upset and Kerry supporters jump in liberal glee, please note that the Newsweek poll is the only poll that shows a change after the debate. All other polls show no significant change.

Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that if Kerry is elected he will pull us out of Iraq quickly? After all, Bush has done the dirty work of defeating Saddam and providing a way for free elections. And when that happens the terrorists will happily focus on growing in numbers and accumulating weapons since they won't have those pesky American soldiers to deal with.
The middle east will continue on its path to radical Islam which will continue to teach the warped virtue of killing Americans.
The democrats like to use the phrase "mortgaging our children's future." What about mortgaging our children's ability of live in peace on our own soil? Because you see, all the money issues mean nothing if our children's children have to wonder if the bus their riding on will be blown up by a twisted Islamic fanatic determined to kill them and himself. We have seen how patient these monsters are.
I don't want to have to listen to my kids ask me in 10 years why didn't we kill the terrorists when we had the chance? Why did we leave? I don't want them to ask me why they have to live in fear.
I hate to keep repeating myself, but really, we simply can longer afford to ignore the sickness of a warped religious mentality in the middle east.
One of the leftys that post here mentioned having Christians knock on her door to spread their message. How annoying that was. I am sure she simply said "no thanks" and closed the door. What she doesn't seem to understand is that the radical Muslims aren't going to knock on her door and then walk away. They want to throw a burka over her and not let her work or let her little girls go to school. And heaven forbid she have a unapproved husband or boyfriend. Then she is simply slaughtered. They want to FORCE her to practice their religion. Perhaps this mother doesn't see the danger of that ever happening in the U.S. But she can hardly deny the reality of what these people want and how they practice their religion in the middle east. Should we not care about the women there? That alone should make the lefty women want to get involved. But it doesn't, does it? I guess when it comes to condemning religion only one counts. (hint: it starts with a 'C') Ironic that it is the one that doesn't force its belief on anyone by the very nature of its teaching.

This is what Kerry said at the debate: "You don't help yourself with other nations when you turn away from the global warming treaty"

Only problem is Kerry himself turned away from the treaty. In July 1997 when the treaty was being negotiated in the U.S. Senate a resolution passed that stated it would not approve a protocol that exempted developing nations or did harm to the U.S. economy. (which the global warming treaty did both) Kerry voted "aye" for the resolution. We are use to Kerry flip flopping but does Kerry not remember this? A vote he was actually there for? By the end of 2003 Kerry was for the treaty. Why I wonder? Maybe its a part of the Kerry "pulling in allies" strategy - (translated-kissing those like France's ass,...oh excuse my french) via Tech Central

Wouldn't it be awesome if we caught Bin Laden or Al-Zawahiri?? Well not to some umm..americans. A Small Victory rocks this story. Beating Bush is more important to some.

Don't expect a debate analysis here. I can never be objective. I honestly can't see past what I KNOW to be right. So far of what I have read Right Wing News has it about right. Although they should have me on their blogroll!
I think it is telling to hear what the other side says when they don't think we are listening.
I did listen to some polls that polled on different questions to regular folk. It seemed most think that Kerry won the debate as a whole by a small margin, but when asked about specifics like who seemed better defining the war on terror or having a plan, Bush won. On who was more likable, Bush won. So, if that is the case then it means Kerry was smoother, easy to listen to. But that Bush made his points well.
Lets face it, there was nothing new here. We all know what each candidate stands for. The media was hoping for a "gotcha" moment from either candidate and they didn't get it.
I have to admit I even got bored and ending up not watching the end, but putting my boys to bed.

I will be gone this weekend camping. I have the steaks marinated, the chili, potatoe salad, and cakes made. Packing up the fishing gear and tents and can't wait!! No TV, radio, computer or phone. Just fine weather, my family, my dog , and my friends. It doesn't get any better than that.
