Charles Krauthammer Nails It
Don't you think most people in America are just plain confused on Health Care Reform? They see Pres. Obama say one thing, and then they see perfectly reputable sources say another. Is someone lying? Who is lying?
The problem is that Obama isn't exactly lying:
Obama doesn’t lie. He merely elides, gliding from one dubious assertion to another. This has been the story throughout his whole health-care crusade.
And this is why Americans feel they can't trust one thing they hear about this drastic change.
Read the whole thing. Krauthammer explains the nuance of Obama's words. It's perfect. He explains how Obama misleads on everything, from not "adding one dime to the deficit" to not covering illegal immigrants.

Feeling Safer?
The Obama Administration's announced yesterday that it is abandoning the missile-defense system in Europe. If you think this is just about defending or not defending Europe, you would be wrong:
It's often forgotten that the now-dead system, which would have placed interceptor missiles in Poland and a powerful X-band radar in the Czech Republic, was also intended to provide an additional layer of defense for the Eastern seaboard of the U.S. from long-range Iranian missiles. Iran already has numerous short- and medium-range missiles, courtesy of its close collaboration with its North Korean ally. It is working on developing a long-range capability, which Pyongyang already has.
The U.S. is protected from the North Korean threat by a series of ground-based interceptors based in Alaska and California. But New York and Washington are a long way from Alaska and California, and the "third site," as the European system was known, was designed in part to provide an additional layer of defense for the American East Coast.
The "smarter" missile-defense system that President Obama announced yesterday won't replace that capability. The mobile and sea-based system could help protect Berlin and Paris from short-range or medium-range missiles, but it won't protect New York from an ICBM. The administration's plan is a blow to the security architecture that protects the American homeland.
...................
Mr. Obama's decision to kill the missile-defense system for Europe imperils the world because it adds to already mounting evidence that the U.S. president is weak and that the U.S. thereby can be intimidated into conforming to the will of less-benignly inspired actors on the international stage. It's a capitulation to pressure from Russia, pressure born of Moscow's openly stated objective to have its way in regard to all affairs of countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Obama's decision is a setback for U.S. interests. It will imperil Americans, diminish security in Europe and the Middle East, reduce justification for Japan and other countries to abstain from obtaining their own nuclear deterrents. It will also encourage Iran to proceed with its program, encourage Russia in its increasingly aggressive behavior in Europe, encourage European countries to accede to Russian demands and further solidify Israel's conclusion that it will have to deal with Iran on its own.

Health Care. Where Are We Now?
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday, “The public option will be in the bill that passes the House.”
It doesn't seem to matter to Pelosi that a a key Senate negotiator, Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota, says the public option is dead and does not have the votes in the Senate. Even President Obama is backing away from it:
Asked Sunday if Obama would accept a bill lacking a public option, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the president insists on more competition in the health insurance marketplace to offer consumers better choices.
"The bottom line ... is: Do individuals looking for health insurance in the private market have choice and competition?" Gibbs said on the CBS program "Face the Nation." "If we have that, the president will be satisfied."
Pelosi seems determined to defy even Obama. But this should come at no surprise from a woman who fakes tears as she voices her concerns about the protests and what could cause violence:
“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw — I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco, this kind of — of rhetoric was very frightening and it gave — it created a climate in which we — violence took place.”
The only problem with this touching display is that the only violence that has taken place at the protest have come from her side.
There actually does seem to be a way to compromise on a healthcare bill. There are many elements that we all agree need to be reformed. We need to pass those. But with Pelosi insisting on the public option, it may derail the whole thing. Keep in mind this has nothing to do with the Republicans. It is blue dog Democrats that are against the public option.
Meanwhile, (chairman of the Senate Finance Committee) "Montana Sen. Max Baucus' proposal would cost $774 billion over 10 years while reducing the federal deficit by $49 billion, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office."
The plan would require all Americans to have health insurance but lacks a government-run public health insurance option favored by Obama and most Democrats
Pres. Obama, to sell health care reform, is hitting the campaign trail again, where he seems to be the most comfortable, and plans back to back TV interviews Sunday. We have never had a President who loved to go on TV as much a this one. President Obama has done 114 interviews, compared to 37 by former President Bush and 41 by former president Clinton in the same time period.
The reason is simple to me. Pres. Obama personally is much much more popular than his ideas. And God knows Americans would rather see him touting health care than Nancy Pelosi.

Please Let This Be The End of ACORN
ACORN uses the poor and uneducated to basically campaign for Democrats. Above that they use them and teach them how to cheat the system. Worst, It was a major contributor to the subprime meltdown by bullying lenders to make home loans on easy terms and conducting “strikes” against banks so they’d lower credit standards.
What does ACORN have to do with Obama? Just another one of those in a long list of questionable close associations. One of Barack Obama's first big "community organizer" jobs involved ACORN in 1992 and he trained ACORN employees. He represented ACORN in court as a lawyer. His campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN in 2008 for voter registration efforts. And we all know how that turned out. They ended up registering the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys and Micky Mouse among other celebrities. They even canvassed for Obama last year.
In case you have been watching ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, or reading any mainstream newspapers and no idea what I'm writing about, Ace sums it up for us so far:
Let's Recap: In all five offices, ACORN officials sought to help out a prostitute. Fine, let's let that slide.
In five offices, ACORN officials sought to help out a prostitute who told them she was bringing around a dozen girls 13-15 years old into the country to be sex slaves.
In four of the offices (and maybe the fifth, we don't know yet), various methods of tax evasion or false statements on tax filings were encouraged by the ACORN staff.
In one of the offices, a tweaker seemed interested in leaving ACORN to come help out at the underage child sex slave brothel.
In one of the offices, a creepy guy told Hannah he had "connections" in Tijuana which might be useful for smuggling 13-15 year old sex slaves across the border.
He also solicited Hannah for sex. People are blowing this off as no big deal. I think it is. Because the reason I think he was offering to help smuggle child sex slaves across the border is he wanted to have sex with Hannah, and he figured that was his in.
So: In all five offices -- which are official federal "partners" with the IRS, being paid to help low-income people file taxes -- ACORN provided advice chiefly amounting to tax fraud or evasion and in several cases offered assistance in running a child sex slave brothel.
Five for five.
A few bad apples, you know.
Now, ACORN claims that lots of offices behaved properly before Giles and O'Keefe caught these bad actors. Trouble is, so what even if that is true, but it's not true. ACORN claimed the New York and San Diego offices turned them away; we can now see that is as far from true as can be imagined. Hell, in San Diego, the guy wanted to help coyote tweeners across the border!
ACORN is like the ideas of most of liberals. On paper it sounds good and compassionate, but in reality it always turns corrupt and wasting our tax payer money.
Embezzlement is also a part of ACORN which the msm skimmed over. In July of '08,The New York Times reported that the brother of ACORN founder had embezzled 1 million dollars from ACORN, but in an effort to keep this from becoming public, ACORN did not alert police. Instead Drummond Pike, the founder and chief executive of the Tides Foundation, who has long poured money into ACORN, paid off the note to make it right. In a July 12 e-mail message to the leader of ACORN, Mr. Kest, Acorn’s political director, Zach Pollett, wrote: “I talked to Drummond on this yesterday and had Beth Kingsley” — Acorn’s lawyer — “prepare a ‘keep your yaps shut’ confidentiality memo to people at Acorn and CCI.”
Corrupt to the core.
ACORN's lofty goal of organizing the poor and powerless has done very little to give them power or keep them from being poor. Why? Well, that is pretty simple. They fail to teach self responsibility and hard work. The poor do not need to be organized, they need to be empowered by their own dedication to hard work, determination for a better life, and (most importantly) making good life choices.
You want to help low income Americans get low income loans? You want to register as many people as possible to vote? You want to help the poor get housing? Great. Let's do it. But let's do it with a heck of a lot more oversight and not a overtly partisan organization run by corrupt hacks.

Why The Media is Losing All Credibility
Well, well. Even the NYT admits how the media ignored an important story:
WASHINGTON — For months during last year’s presidential race, conservatives sought to tar the Obama campaign with accusations of voter fraud and other transgressions by the national community organizing group Acorn, which had done some work for the campaign.
But it took amateur actors, posing as a prostitute and a pimp and recorded on hidden cameras in visits to Acorn offices, to send government officials scrambling in recent days to sever ties with the organization.
But get this:
Conservatives believe that they have hit upon a winning formula for such attacks: mobilizing people to dig up dirt, trumpeting it on talk radio and television, prompting Congress to weigh in and demanding action from the Obama administration.
Mobilizing people to dig up dirt?? You mean investigative journalism like "60 minutes" USED to do? Trumpeting it on talk radio and TV? You mean reporting wrong doing? Prompting Congress to weigh in and demanding action from the Obama administration? You mean demanding accountability?
There was at time when good journalism did all those things. But now it takes "a winning formula" from conservatives. THIS, my friends, is why the msm is dying.

Give credit where credit is due...
The House voted to censure Joe Wilson, even though he apologized immediately to Pres. Obama and Obama accepted. Even Pelosi said we needed to move on. But no, despite a host of Democrats (Rangel, Jefferson, Pelosi, Murtha, and Reid) who have said or done things they need to apologize for, the majority of the Democrats decided that a partisanship stunt was necessary. I thought Obama was supposed to have changed all this, but the Democrats just can't help themselves.
But not all Democrats are about this stunt. There are twelve that have the decency to want to move on. They deserve to be recognized and applauded for showing class and the kind of change that Pres. Obama promised and we all hoped would happen.
They are:
Michael Arcuri of New York, Bill Delahunt of Massachusetts, Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, Maurice Hinchey of New York, Paul Hodes of New Hampshire, Dennis Kucinich of Ohio, Dan Maffei of New York, Eric Massa of New York, James McDermott of Washington, Gwen Moore of Wisconsin, Gene Taylor of Mississippi and Harry Teague of Arizona.
Thanks for showing class guys. We appreciate it.

The Politics of Racism
I don't usually read Maureen Dowd. I find her to be bitter and lonely, and that comes through in her writing, but in her most recent NYT column she has decided that all this opposition to Pres. Obama's agenda is just racist.
Larry Elder was on Fox and Friends this morning discussing this, and he pin pointed the exact reason the left uses the race card. He said when you call someone a racist you stop the conversation. And that is exactly what they are trying to do.
This tea party movement is about one thing, and one thing only. Stopping the growth of government. Pres. Obama could be lily white and the movement would have been the same. People ask where was the tea party movement during Bush's spending? It was brewing. Those who think that conservatives weren't angry during Bush's spending just weren't paying attention. Especially if you read conservative journals and blogs, you would know, we were ticked. We are STILL ticked about it. Pres. Obama simply added salt to the wound. A LOT of salt. He quadruped the debt in his first 6 months. That alone woke up a lot of Americans. This is all about one color, and that color is green. The green of our money being taken away from us and wasted in Washington.
I think anyone who reads me on a regular basis knows how passionate I am about the race issue. Growing up in the 60's in Mississippi as a child of integration, I saw real racism, up close, and horrifying. When people like Maureen Dowd call people racist that are no such thing, she diminishes what happened back then, and she makes the word racist nothing more than a slur.
She should be ashamed.
Pres. Obama is called names just as Pres. Bush was, and Pres. Clinton before him. To imply that name calling has anything to do with his race is absurd and wrong.
Of course there are racists out there. But they are actually protected by the likes of Dowd by drawing attention away from real racsim to her silly accusations.
I was a part of the tea party movement from the beginning. I got e-mails from all over from different tea party leaders and members. If there had been even a nuanced reference in ANY way to Pres. Obama's race, I not only would have quit the movement, but I would have written to denounce it.
Dowd is simply wrong, but more than that, she is like the boy who cried wolf. When racism really raises it's ugly head, no one will pay attention because the word will have lost it's meaning.
*Check out "We The People: Black & White In America" facebook page. It has EXCELLENT videos from the tea parties.

Breakin News! ACORN is having a really bad week...
WASHINGTON -- The Senate voted Monday to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN, a community organization under fire in several voter-registration fraud cases.
The 83-7 vote would deny housing and community grant funding to ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
Did you get that? 83-7. Even the Democrats smelled the rotting corruption.

"Trickle Down Taxes"
I have had a family working for me, cleaning my house, painting, yard work, and other odd jobs for almost 9 years. In all that time I've never had one complaint about them because they all do an excellent job and I adore them.
But the other day, the mother called me and asked me if there was anything I had any concerns about. She asked me if there was anything they needed to do better. I said, "No, You do a terrific job, but why do you ask?" She said that because of the economy they have been losing jobs. She said they were afraid to lose my work. She wanted to make sure I was happy. I assured her I was, but the truth is if Obama raises taxes on us, I may have to let her family go. We have two kids in college and two more to educate. No matter how good of a living one makes, if enough money goes out the door, we have to cut back on luxuries.
This is the type of thing that Obama and his ilk never understand. They think they can tax the "wealthiest Americans" and it won't affect the lower income working families. But as you can see, it most certainly does.
We should call it "trickle down taxes." I may have to pay more taxes under Obama, but that family will pay much more than I will. Not in taxes, but in lost income.

The filth of the Democrats
Above are the grounds after the 9/12 rally of conservatives This is a shot of the grounds after the Obama inauguration.
More pics at GatewayPundit
The only reason this is important is because it illustrates the difference in perception vs. reality. Just as the truth is that conservatives give much more to charity to help the poor and needy than liberals, we also care more about the environment.

It's still all about the Jews
Osama bin Laden calls Obama "powerless." And once again it's all about the Jews.
Osama insists that we just don't get that we should stop supporting Israel. What Osama doesn't get is that we have a President who really doesn't.

"Glenn Beck 3, Barack Obama 0"
It’s been a good week for Glenn Beck. A very good week.
First Van Jones “resigned” as Green Jobs Czar. Then Yosi Sergant was “reassigned” at the National Endowment for the Arts when down. Now the Census Bureau has fired ACORN.
Take the rest of the weekend off, Glenn.
After that 9/12 event, that is.
Love or hate him, Glenn Beck has turned out to be a force to be reckoned with. How has this happened? His ratings are off the hook, he has organized a march in Washington D.C. that was historic, and his exposes are starting to make him one of the last of investigative journalists out there. Oh, he would tell you that he isn't a journalist, but exposing corruption is what journalists are supposed to do. So in my book, that makes him one. And one of the only ones as well.
He is emotional and passionate. His ratings are high for one reason and one reason only. People know sincerity when they see it. And he is sincere. He is also fearless. He said the other day that they can't bring you down when you have nothing to lose. He says if he lost his job tomorrow, it wouldn't matter because the money has never been important to him and I believe that. He said he would simply get in line with the rest of us at the protests to take back our country, and I believe he would. That is why his show resonates with the American people.
But I hope he is ready for the onslaught of the hate/smear crowd of the left. I think what they are about to do to Glenn Beck is what we should now refer to as being "Palinized." They will go after his family, his friends, his background, and his children. Just as they did with Palin. They will lie and smear just like they did with Palin. They have just begun.
I hope Beck can take it. Because he is one of the few voices out there in TV land that is speaking for the people. He is educating people that would never otherwise even know what organizations like ACORN are, or that we even had a Green Czar. He's fighting the good fight, and whether we on the right like him or not, we need to support him, because not only is he right, he is making a difference. The proof is in the pudding.
We don't have the votes to defeat this health care bill I'm afraid. But what has happened is we have woken the people up to make sure that we NEVER give Democrats the majority again. Because now, and because of people like Glenn Beck, we understand how much we have to lose.
