I hope Obama wins Texas...

..and the Democratic nomination. That would be a good thing for the Republicans and I will tell you why.

If Hillary won the nomination there is no doubt that she would have to ask Obama to be the V.P. If she didn't, then she wouldn't bring this groundswell of support with her into the general. In addition to the cult like following Obama would still bring with him, you would have Hillary as the "experienced" one.

No matter how one feels about Hillary, she is a very smart woman. She knows her stuff on foreign policy and she knows the inner workings of the Presidency and the decisions that have to be made that affect all nations. Even though she can't make a stand right now about Iraq because of the far left base, she understands that we can't withdraw from Iraq immediately. In other words with her knowledge and his charisma, the Hillary/Obama combo would be deadly.

But if Obama wins I don't think he will pick Hillary, and even if he does, it won't have the same impact.

After watching the back and forth between McCain and Obama these last few days, it was clear who was the leader with experience and wisdom. Obama looked young and inexperienced. Which is exactly how it will continue to look in the general.

So I am rooting for an Obama win, not just because it would be sweet to see Hillary defeated in what she felt was self righteously her, but because Obama, beneath the shine, glitter, and inspiring words, is not ready for the Presidency. That will become clearer and clearer as time goes on.
