Walla Walla Union Bulletin (Walla Walla Washington):

SPLIT-OFF PARTIES ASSURE PRESIDENT TRUMAN DEFEAT

My commenter the Raving Atheist suggested I put this up as a regular item since as the Raving Atheist points out: " the parallels between the behavior of the young Dewey (46 years old to Truman's 64) and Obama's current hubris are amusing to follow: the same landslide predictions, the same mass outdoor and stadium rallies, the same premature cabinet-picking announcement, the patronizing calls to avoid "bitterness" among Truman's supporters; the accusations of mudslinging; and the huge election-eve media buy (two hours of radio vs Truman's 15 minutes). Since Dewey of course lost, it's a good antidote to the demoralization many conservatives are feeling, and proof that if you get up and vote you can defeat the unrelenting media favoritism. Yeah, Dewey was a Republican, but in some ways it just makes it that much funnier that Obama is mimicking him."

I agree. So look for the 1948 headlines!

Also, check out this battleground poll. Sweet.
