As many as 19 incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism against synagogues and homes in Brooklyn Heights last night have shocked the neighborhood. The graffiti, including swastikas, was found last night at about 9 p.m.
More:
Rabbi Raskin said he found a swastika painted on the steps of the synagogue last night after congregants noticed it on their way to classes inside. It was the first such incident he knew of in the area, he said.
The rabbi suggested the attacks could be linked to the presence of President Ahmadinejad of Iran in New York this week."I think the president of Iran arriving to New York spurred these hatemongers to come out of the closet," Rabbi Raskin said.
