Ace says it better than I could:
The Ninth Circus Strikes Again
"While exposing children of tender years to the Pledge of Allegiance is a traumatic and searing experience of gob-smacking heartache, apparently soliciting parental consent for a "survey of early trauma" without mentioning that it asks first graders (as well as third and fifth graders) about their sexual habits is just peachy A-OK doubleplusgood!"
The unbelievable quote in the court decision is this:
"We agree, and hold that there is no fundamental right of parents to be the exclusive provider of information regarding sexual matters to their children, either independent of their right to direct the upbringing and education of their children or encompassed by it."
Stunned and sickened are the only words that can describe how I feel about this. This, my dear friends, is the reason it is so important to have judges appointed by common sense Republicans who understand that parents are the ones who decide what is best for their own children.
